Marking the spirit of victory and national pride, a revolutionary cultural program organized by Biplobi Shilpi Samaj was held with great enthusiasm from December 16 to December 26 in observance of Victory Day. The ten-day-long series of performances took place across Dhaka, Narayanganj, and Gazipur, deeply resonating with audiences through powerful artistic expressions inspired by the Liberation War of Bangladesh.
The program was led by the organization’s visionary convener Shoyb Hossain, with the dedicated and dynamic efforts of Member Secretary Biplob Chowdhury, whose tireless commitment played a crucial role in the successful execution of the event. Through a compelling blend of songs, poetry, recitations, theatrical performances, and rhythmic dance, the revolutionary production titled “Durgom Giri Kantar Moru” portrayed the joy of independence, the pain of loss, the courage of resistance, emotional intensity, and profound love for the motherland.
According to the organizers, extensive rehearsals were conducted throughout November across Dhaka, Narayanganj, and Gazipur, involving various revolutionary artists and cultural organizations. These preparations laid the foundation for the grand Victory Month presentations. The core objective of the initiative was to strengthen national consciousness and patriotism, while conveying the significance and dignity of the Liberation War to the younger generation through emotional, mournful, and revolutionary artistic expressions.
Among the multiple venues, the Dhaka-based programs were notably staged at the Cultural Development Center in Paribagh and the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy grounds, where large audiences gathered to witness the performances.
It was further revealed that convener Shoyb Hossain is an accomplished music teacher and vocalist. Following the continuity of previous years, he once again provided training in revolutionary music to emerging artists, consistently contributing to the development of new revolutionary talents. He expressed strong determination to present innovative cultural works to the nation through Biplobi Shilpi Samaj in the future.
In an exclusive interview with journalists, Shoyb Hossain stated:
“The Liberation War is the foundation of our national identity. Through art and culture, we want people—especially the younger generation—not only to remember history, but to feel it deeply. This initiative is our sincere effort to bring the spirit of independence alive through creative expression.”
Member Secretary Biplob Chowdhury remarked:
“The collective dedication and unity of the artists were our greatest strengths. Despite limited resources, we successfully brought the spirit of Victory Month to the people, and that itself is a meaningful achievement.”
On behalf of Biplobi Shilpi Samaj, it was announced that similar Liberation War-based cultural programs will be expanded to various districts and rural regions of the country in the near future.
Members of the intelligentsia and audience participants expressed their appreciation, stating that such initiatives are timely and essential in inspiring the present generation and reinforcing awareness of the nation’s historical struggle for independence.
The slogan of this year’s program was:
“Awaken the Spirit of the Liberation War Through the Power of Culture.”
